It's always nice to have friends who constantly inspire you. Who push you to do your best, be your best. Rakhi is one such person. She founded the charity event
Raas for a Cause, and I look forward to it every year! I love dressing up in my Indian outfit (in fact, maybe I'll get a new one for this year...), and it's amazing to watch Rakhi in action. I used to participate in a lot of charity work and fundraisers while in school, but as an adult, I hardly do anything outside of my work, and Rakhi has really inspired me to make volunteering a part of my everyday groove, and monetary donations a part of my budget. I know I gripe about money and the things I want, but there are so many out there who are less fortunate than I am, especially in this economic climate, and giving back helps not only those in need but it helps our society grow as a whole.
I volunteered to shoot Raas last year, and this year, I offered to take some promotional pictures for Rakhi. She came back with an enthusiastic yes, and ideas for a modern, artistic and sexy shoot. I suggested we go back to the San Jose Museum of Art, and I could not be more excited with how these pictures turned out! The columns and overhangs provided exactly the kind of light I was looking for, and Rakhi brought it with the fierceness. The thing I love most about this shoot is how amazingly sexy Rakhi looks with clothes ON. It just goes to show you that sexiness isn't about how much skin is on display but about how confident you feel. And with a face and body like that, how can you feel anything but confident?
